Field Project 2022 at Obermettlen in Lucerne
Our students from USI Lugano and Hanken School of Economics Helsinki spent 3 days at the cattle farm Obermettlen to explore the business concept of small scale ethical meat production, humane slaughter (on-farm killing), nose-to-tail cuisine, and human-cattle interactions.
Field Project 2021 at Berne
Our bachelor specialization ICSE found its way to Berne to participate in the project Museum Quarter Bern. Students from Helsinki and Lugano visited the Museum for Communication, the Shooting Museum, the Swiss Alpine Museum, the National History Museum and the Bern Museum of History, to conceptualize how to improve the Museum Quarter as a joint place of exhibition.
Global Case Competition 2021
Our course Tackling World Challenges Scandinavia participated in the Global Case Competition at Norwegian Business School. Students from USI (Lugano) and Hanken School of Economics (Helsinki) competed against international universities to generate game changing solutions for the UN Food Systems Summit and were amongst the winners of several competition rounds!
Best Emerging Researcher Paper Award in Pedagogical Innovation and Research in Management Education at the European Academy of Management 2020
Our Research and Coordination Consultant Monika Maślikowska presented the paper “How do dynamic boundaries affect team cohesion in virtual student teams?” and it was recognized for the “robust methodology, topical subject and contribution”. –> Visit conference page

We have won the prestigious Movetia Exchange and Mobility grant!
This will facilitate intercultural and international South-North research on sustainable Food System Transitions between the Sustainability Institute (SI) in South Africa and Università della Svizzera italiana in Switzerland.
